Dr. Thomas LoPresti is a licensed Optometric Physician and has been in practice since 1992. His clinical background experience ranges from primary eye care to specialty eye care, including hard to fit contact lens patients, glaucoma treatment and management, and post-operative cataract care.
Dr. LoPresti is a lifelong resident of Bergen County, having graduated from Northern Valley Regional High School in 1983. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Seton Hall University in 1987 and completed his doctorate at the New England College of Optometry in Boston in 1992.
During his graduate training, Dr. LoPresti completed externships at the Lahey Eye Clinic in Massachusetts and Omni Eye Services in New Jersey, where he gained experience in neuro-ophthalmology and diabetic eye care. His training also included post-operative care and surgical co-management with various ophthalmic sub-specialists.
In 2007, Dr. LoPresti completed additional training and received his license for prescribing oral medications in New Jersey, which further enhances his scope of practice and available treatment options for his patients.
Before joining Metro Eye Care in 2005, Dr. LoPresti owned and operated a private optometric practice for fourteen years. This provided him with hands-on practice management skills, as well as extensive experience in the treatment and management of ocular diseases.
